Welcome to The First Annual ISU Fiddle Contest!

Get out your fiddle and rosin up your bow for the first annual Idaho State University Fiddle Competition on May 20, 2017! Come celebrate National Fiddle Day by attending a historical event right here in Pocatello, ID. Come out and watch some of the nation’s best fiddlers compete for the championship title, and enjoy an evening of music, entertainment, and fun at the ISU Fine Arts Building in Pocatello, Idaho. Registration is now open for contestants and ticket are on sale now. Stay tuned for more updates about judges, accompanists, sponsors, and prize money! We can’t wait to see you in May!

Dinner Break (doors open for night show at 7:00) $5 a ticket, seating is first come first serve.

* Small Fry, Junior Junior, Junior, & Adult will have 2 rounds, Championship 3 rounds, Entertainment 1 round, and Jackpot Harmony 1 round.

* Times are subject to change based off of how many competitors per division, and breaks for the judges. This is just an estimate; please arrive early for your division.

Tickets
The fiddle contest is free and open to the public during the day. Tickets will need to be purchased for the night show that begins at 7:30 that evening. Contestants and accompanists wearing their nametags will get into the night show for free.

Tickets are $5 a piece, anyone 12 and under is free. Seating is first come, first serve.

Tickets can be ordered ONLINE HERE  or at the door.
 
Parking & Food
A map of the ISU Campus is attached below. Parking on the day of the contest is free in lot G01, which is conveniently located next to the competition venue. Food trucks will be located in this parking lot throughout the day as well. Other eateries to choose from nearby are: McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subway, and local coffee shops, bagelry’s, and diners.

Rules
This fiddle contest will have minimal rules.
Rule #1 The contestant must play a hoedown, waltz, and tune of choice (except for in the entertainment division where any tune and instrument is welcome to enter, there will be a 5 minute time limit for the entertainment division). Please do not repeat tunes. Only two tunes are to be played (a fast one and a slow one) in the jackpot harmony division.
Rule #2 The judges decisions are final.
