Bobbie's Grandpa was an old-time dance fiddler and also Nebraska's state champion. Bobbie was 6 years old when he passed away and left his fiddle to her.
She started taking violin classes in grade school and began studying Suzuki.  Bobbie also was studying classical piano.
Soon her father took her to an Old Time Fiddler's show in Star ID where she met “Mr. Fiddler”, Mannie Shaw. At that time her love of Old Time Fiddle music began.
She won the Idaho Junior Div. when she was 16 and went on to study with Herman Johnson who was a 5-time National Champion in Weiser.  He introduced her to the Texas style of fiddling.
She studied both classical piano and violin in college.
At the age of 16 she began teaching fiddle and has never stopped. Her group the Junior Jammer fiddlers have performed for 3 presidents, 2 National Governors Conventions, countless community events and the National Fiddlers contest for the last 15 years. Bobbie enjoys teaching alongside her daughter Katrina Nicolayeff and together have built a solid fiddling program teaching several styles of fiddling.
Now that all of her children are grown, last year Bobbie started competing and judging again.
Bobbie has been married to Steve Pearce for 36 years. Together they had 3 children and now are grandparents to 6 beautiful grandchildren. Bobbie also enjoys gardening, collecting antique dolls and travel.
